Wayne Munns began birding over 30 years ago during his last year of college in Seattle, WA. Since then, he has sought birds and other wildlife in 28 countries and on six continents. Back in RI, his favorite patches include Miantonomi Park in Newport, Rome Point in North Kingstown, and Beavertail State Park in Jamestown. He was a member of the ASRI Kimball Wildlife Refuge Advisory Committee 1979-1980, and was elected its Chair in 1980. When not birding, Wayne is an ecologist and the Director of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency research laboratory in Narragansett, RI.
