Bring your binoculars and bike for some migrants and biking!
We will meet at Independence Park, Bristol and enjoy a leisurely bike ride stopping at locations such as Poppasquash Causeway, Mill Pond, Mill Gut, Colt State Park, Jacob's Point Saltmarsh, Brickyard Pond, and Little Echo Pond (time and enthusiasm permitting).
Trip ends deliberately near the Beehive Café.
Helmets and bike locks advised (leader has extras of both, available upon request)
Leader suggestion – “If your bike needs a spring tune up, may I suggest supporting a local vendor in Your Bike Store on the bike path in Warren”

Reminder - a permit is required to photograph at Swan Point. In accordance with the rules, a camera will not be allowed without one.
This is a great time to explore one of the best warbler migration spots in Southern New England. In addition to the warblers, there is always a nice assortment of vireos, flycatchers, thrushes and more. We will meet on the lawn area just outside the main gate. Please park along the main road before or after the apron that leads to the gate.

Bird Walk: High Rock Farm, Cumberland, RI http://www.cumberlandlandtrust.org/holdings
Description: Join us at this Cumberland Land Trust property for a 2-hour exploration. The preserve has a variety of habitats: woods, field with brushy margins, power line. We expect to find a variety of warblers, vireos, sparrows, flycatchers, and orioles and we hope, some surprises.
Conditions: The trails are somewhat rocky, with a small climb up the power line, but nothing very strenuous. Heavy rain cancels walk.
What to bring: Binoculars, insect repellant.
Directions: High Rock Farm is located on Scott Road in Cumberland. From I-295 exit 10 (Rt. 122) go south a short distance, just past Rt. 116, and turn left on Scott Rd. Look for the Cumberland Land Trust Outdoor Environmental Education Center (OEEC), which is adjacent to High Rock Farm. The OEEC is at the overhead crossing power lines, approximately 1/4 mile North of the I-295 overpass on Scott Rd. There is a parking area for several cars at the OEEC. There is also parking along the west side of the road.
Where to meet: We will meet in the OEEC parking lot.

The dirt trails are well marked, in places a bit rough and with a bit of climbing (this park is the highest point in Providence) - some might find a walking stick helpful, Probably 1 – 1.5 miles walking. Miantonomi could be considered southern Rhode Island's answer to Swan Point Cemetery. We will walk the park in search of newly arrived neotropical migrants and possible rarities.
Conditions: The dirt trails are generally easy though there are some steep portions. 1 – 1.5 miles walking. Heavy rain cancels walk.
What to bring: Binoculars.

Bird Walk at Brickyard Pond/Veterans Memorial Park, Barrington, Rhode Island
Description: Join us as we explore Brickyard Pond and Veterans Memorial Park for spring migrants and arriving summer residents. Once the center of Rhode Island's brick-making industry, the pond is now the center of a 230 acre conservation area providing varied habitats for migrating and resident waterfowl, Osprey, wading birds including Black-crowned Night-Herons, and many songbirds.
Conditions: The walk is mostly level and the trails are well marked. Some areas can become a bit muddy after a good rain and there is plenty of poison ivy in spots. About 1.5 miles. Heavy rain cancels walk.
What to bring: Binoculars and insect repellant.
Where to meet: Meeting location: We will meet by the front gate of Veterans Memorial Park, located to the right of the Bayside YMCA, 70 West St, Barrington, RI. There is limited parking inside Veterans Memorial Park but there is plenty of parking towards the back of the YMCA parking lot.

Participants can expect to walk at least one mile on even terrain (mostly dirt roads and boardwalks).
