Bird Walk: Buck Hill Management Area, Pascoag. 7:30am (morning trip)

We will walk Buck Hill MA in search of northern Rhode Island’s breeding species including Pileated Woodpecker and Black-throated Blue Warbler. This is approximately a 3 mile loop with easy to moderate walking difficulty. We’ll start by the marsh, head north towards the MA border and come back down the fields and clear cut area.

Meet at the Buck Hill Parking Lot off of Buck Hill Rd at 7:30am

Leader: Dylan Pedro – [email protected]

First Annual Members Only Picnic at Colt State Park in Bristol, RI at site 32
2 pm  --  6 pm (or later if people want to watch the sun go down.)

Bring a picnic dish to share with others, your own hamburgers/hotdogs if you want to grill, and your own beverages (non-alcoholic).  We’ll provide plates, napkins, utensils, chips, condiments, water and keep the charcoal grill fired up.

There are five picnic tables on the shaded site but we suggest a some folding chairs might come in handy. There’s plenty of open space for games, kites, balls, biking and fun so bring whatever activities you and your family enjoy.

Please click here to register if you plan to come and let us know how many adults and children to expect.

Bird Trip: Trustom Pond NWR area and Succotash Marsh, Charlestown. 6:30am - noon

We will meet at the Tower Hill Park ‘n Ride and head south to Charlestown to bird several areas such as Trustom Pond NWR, Moonstone Beach, Card’s Pond and Succotash Marsh. A scope is recommended but not necessary. A packed lunch may also be a good idea in case the trip runs past 12pm.

Due to parking restrictions at areas we are visiting, carpooling will be necessary to ensure all cars will have room. If you’d like to find a carpool to the meeting location, we can try to help you find one!

Meeting location: Tower Hill Park ‘n Ride (At intersection of Bridgetown and Mooresfield Rd, South Kingston)

Leader: Dan Berard – [email protected]
