Napatree Point is one of RI’s shorebirding hot spots. We will walk out to the point in search of migrant shorebirds. Be prepared to walk on sand and through shallow water. Park on the street, we will meet at the end of the parking lot on the bay side of the entrance.

July 19, Saturday. Birds and Butterflies at Norman Bird Sanctuary, Newport. 8am. Morning Trip.
One of the best aspects of birding is being outside and experiencing other aspects of nature. In this trip, we will also focus on butterflying using similar approaches to bird ID. We will not be using nets, but binoculars, habitat, overall coloration, behavior, and flight style to ID butterflies. Don’t worry if you are a beginning butterflier! We will stay on the paths, but as always, dress for biting insects and ticks. We will meet at the Norman Bird Sanctuary parking lot at 8am.
