Warwick Public Library: Large Meeting Room

Meet and greet w light refreshments 6:30 – 7:00, talk starts at 7:00

In this Talk, Steve Reinert and Deirdre Robinson will present on the results of their Saltmarsh Sparrow field studies conducted at the Jacob’s Point salt marsh in Warren, RI, during the 2017 breeding season. In his slide presentation, Steve will emphasize the scientific yield of color-marking breeding adults, factors impacting nest success, and the predicted fate of Saltmarsh Sparrows as the rate of sea level rise continues to accelerate. Deirdre will use a series of video clips to demonstrate survival behaviors of nestlings, foraging techniques, and a never-before-captured surprise discovery!

Middletown (various locations)

With numerous agency's protecting land for conservation and recreation, Middletown is a fantastic place for a morning of birding. For this trip we will visit several locations with a diversity of habitats. Several locations along the way have a history of attracting rare birds so we will also be on the look out for rarities along the way.

Meeting Location: We will meet at Sachuest Point NWR (click here for google map directions)
