ASRI Eagle Cruise on the Connecticut River

Eastern Connecticut

Join Audubon for a winter trip on the Connecticut River to search for eagles, hawks, waterfowl, seals and other mammals.  Binoculars will be available, as well as complimentary tea and coffee.  The boat has a heated cabin, but dress very warmly as the best views are from the deck. After the tour, visit the Connecticut River Museum and enjoy the Eagles of Essex exhibit. Bring a lunch, snacks, water, camera and optics.

Winter Duck Walk with Dan Berard

Seekonk River, Providence


You may have recently noticed lively black and white ducks diving into the Seekonk. They are just one of the many ducks that spend the winter in our home waters.  Join the Blackstone Parks Conservancy and Dan Berard, expert naturalist and ornithologist, on a walk along the river to spot and identify ducks. Children are welcome to walk with their parents. There will be hot chocolate and free coloring books at the Boat Club. Bring your binoculars, spotting scopes, camera

Coastal Kent County Hotspots

Warwick


Situated between the capitol city and the coastal birding mecca of Southern RI Kent County boasts some great winter birding along its short but diverse coastline. Join us for a morning of birding at some of the unique coastal hotspots in the Warwick/East Greenwich area as we search for a variety of ducks and other waterbirds that overwinter in the Narragansett Bay!

Youth Birders Walk at Lonsdale Marsh
Lincoln

​​Join the Youth Birders Initiative for a walk near the banks of the Blackstone River. Bluebirds, finches, and early warblers abound, as well as waterfowl and raptors. Bring your own binoculars.

Open to birders ages 8-17. We accept younger participants on a case-by-case basis. Parents or other responsible adults should accompany any birders younger than 12. 

Meeting location: Meet at the parking lot on John St (Rt. 123) east of Lonsdale Ave. (Rt 122) where you see the sign for the former Lonsdale Drive-In. (click here for google maps directions)
